Education on Computers
When the pandemic happened, Filipinos started the lockdown. Closing all establishment including Schools. Now, in the Philippines after 3 months of quarantined. Our Goverment or should I say Department of Education, is planning to continue and start the semester online. Like they want all of us to buy or borrow computers specially when you are still studying. I heard they're giving the supplies, which is laptop, desktop or even smartphone, to every public students, if not every one, most of them will share. I like the idea of continuing their studies, and doing it at home to be safe. But most of the Filipinos are broke. Although they give a way their supplies, the internet connection here or data connection is expensive for a whole week. They said they will try the learning in radio station and television. Either of it, some of the regions or provinces does not have signal. I hope the goverment will figure something out. And I think parents should help too. Before all technology was born, and books were expensive, we manage to learn.

Here immediately online schooling started. On television exists for decades but it's always the same and not for a specific age or study more basic info. Many with us were in trouble too. No computer and although some teachers asked (we do not have a computer and a slow connection) no one really cared. Making a PowerPoint presentation is no fun on a phone and all tests are run with a timer. If your connection is gone you can forget about it. I needed to buy a lot of extra internets (different providers) and hoped that would work but it was just a waste of money. The providers are not good, too many use it at the same time. Schools could organize it in a better way. Give for two weeks or a month and teachers should be available and answer questions of students. Some organizations gave computers and tablets to students but the government said if schools want to do it online they have to provide in it. With us, they only needed to say what to do. All schoolbooks are at home.
That's sounds great. Where you from? I hope our government can provide to all students too. Most of the books were either borrowed at schools or libraries. That's why when the lockdown happened, most of the students don't have material to study. Smartphone were used in different matters. Sadly, they forgot what's important.
I am from the Netherlands but the government does not provide in laptops. Some organisations did and the test is up to schools.
