Sumo wrestlers are called the super heroes of Japan. Although they look obese, even then they are more active than a healthy strong man. Sumo wrestlers have to complete all the difficult tasks at the beginning of their career. For the first 3 years they can't connect to the internet. This time they have to adhere to their own culture. They have to do this because they don't want to be affected by the internet. They have to get up at 4 in the morning and practice for about 3-4 hours, even on an empty stomach. Moreover, at the beginning of their career, they have to do their own daily chores. Such as washing one's own clothes, cleaning the bed, making their own food etc. You would be surprised to know that no sumo wrestler is allowed to drive. If a sumo wrestler is seen driving, they are banned from the wrestling mat for life time. The rule was introduced in 2012 after two sumo wrestlers had a tragic accident while driving. They both lost their lives in that accident. You may be surprised to learn that, sumo wrestlers only eat twice a day, again following the diet chart. They have to eat a kind of soup which is made with several types of vegetables and meat, which helps them to store fat and provide the necessary energy in their body. The clothes that sumo wrestlers wear are called “Mawasi”. It is a traditional costume of Japanese sumo wrestlers. This naming of this dress has been going on since the 17th century. And this dress is just a piece of cloth. However, there are several rules for it. Junior level wrestlers have to wear these pieces of ordinary clothes, but the national level player has to wear this dress with silver belt, so that advertisements of different companies are added, because sumo wrestling is very popular in Japan. Sumo wrestlers advertise most of the girl’s product in Japan, which shows how much sumo wrestlers are desired by Japanese girls. Sumo wrestlers, according to their tradition, pray continuously for about 5 minutes before starting the fight in the ring. They then spread it on the wrestling mat with water and salt in hand. Because they believe that all the bad energy in the wrestling mat disappears. To honor the father of sumo wrestling, almost all sumo wrestlers wear similar haircuts. And it has been around since the beginning of the 17th century. Only 85 hair designers in Japan are licensed to cut the hair of these sumo wrestlers.

Sumo wrestling referees wear two types of clothing in two types of wrestling. In junior level wrestling, the referees wear plain clothes and no shoes on their feet. On the other hand, the higher level referees wear colorful attire. You would be surprised to know that top level referees bring knives with them, So that if they make a wrong decision, they are ready to commit suicide in front of everyone with that knife. In Japan, higher level wrestlers are awarded a trophy worth 19,000 USD, which is completely tax free. And the big leaders of the world are invited as guests in the final match at the national level. “Yamamotoyama Ryūta” (1984) is the heaviest Japanese-born sumo wrestler in history, and is also thought to be the heaviest Japanese person ever. His weighs 282 kg and stands 6 feet 4 inches high.
