History proves that the tree was planted by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). King Akbar built Arkanan which still exists in front of Calcutta University, King Shah Jahan built Salimarbagh in Lahore, the hanging garden of Babylon is still a burning example. Moreover, it has become common to start a good venture or work by planting a tree. The historic racecourse ground was once a hotbed of horse racing and worthless work. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman planted a coconut sapling and renamed the racecourse ground Suhrawardy Udyan. In accordance with Article 18A of the Constitution of Bangladesh, provisions have been made for the protection, development and safety of the environment and biodiversity. Seedling-graft selection in tree planting The ideal fruit seedling cuttings should be selected at the beginning of the planting activity. Ideal seedlings are characterized by thick, short and balanced root growth.
