Is reading posts and commenting on them treated as spamming? Or is there a limit to number of comments per day? A message popped up on my screen that I am spamming, though I try to write meaningful comments and not like the standard lines which I mostly see here. I guess that is the difference between a machine assessment and a human assessment. I think that's why my points are stuck at 38. Sad.

Do not comment the same words or message to your recent comments to other articles, the bot will detect it as spam. Don't mind the points, not all activities here are rewarded directly, random rewarder will take time to give credits to your activities, just continue the routine. Plus the time differences from London to your country may affect that.

I also experience that one, but I just edit my comments. If you comment that fast it will also appears, also if your comments are a bit similar to your recent comments it will appear again. The bot will read it as spam.
Commenting should not be considered spamming if your comments are meaningful and not too similar to one another. At least that's how I have understood it. Reading and commenting is activity and should increase your points (unless your comments are spam). But I have no idea why your comments would be classed as spam. I cannot even guess, since I have not seen most of them.
I avoid those comments like 'nice article' or nice pictures' and write 1 or 2 lines which I consider meaningful. But in any case its a learning experience for me. I would rather reduce commenting.
Can it be you have a slow connection? I have one and at times this message shows up with me. At first, I thought "hard to believe someone writes exactly the same as I". Later it turned out it's the connection. With me, it still shows as if my comment isn't sent but in reality, it is. You try to send it but since it's already published you are spamming yourself. I doubt there is a max if it comes to comments as long they are good and not always the same.
Sometimes I have slow connection, but this message popped up first time for me, so I am a little annoyed.
If you see it pop up... Copy paste what you wrote, refresh the page and see if your answer is published already. It's what I do. I think the read ash server causes these problems too same if it comes to upbotes.

I've had this message many times because I used the same sentence or link in several comments (when I warned about scam). I had to rephrase the sentences and then the message did not come. It did not affect my points negatively.
hope it doesnt effect my earning negatively just like you. When it popped up I also rephrased it and it was accepted.
I suspect that yourel problem with the points are caused by the lack of EXC. You once copied something from the internet and once used a long quote. I think the system is punishing it. I don't know how it is programmed, but I suspect that if you stop doing it, it will be fine. I also noticed a similar problem with the points for a few days (not because of plagiarism). After a few days it was ok again.
