Patience and perseverance bring success.
Rome was once the capital of the most powerful empire in the ancient world. But this powerful empire was not built in a year or so. From generation to generation, people had to work hard with patience and perseverance to uphold its glory. This applies to all our work in the world. Everyone wants greatness but very few people achieve it. This is because most people do not have the patience and perseverance to stick to their goals. When faced with difficulties, they lose courage in the beginning and give up completely in despair. On the other hand, there are those who continue to work with a strong morale to deal with all the complexities. They may fail once or twice or even repeatedly. Yet with courage and determination they continue their work until success finally catches up to them. The famous story of Robert Bruce and the spider in Scotland proves the fact that nothing great can be achieved without real patience. বাংলা অনুবাদঃ একদা রোম ছিল প্রাচীন বিশ্বের সবচেয়ে শক্তিশালী সাম্রাজ্যের রাজধানী । কিন্তু এ শক্তিশালী সাম্রাজ্যটি এক বছরে অথবা অনুরুপ সময়ে নির্মিত হয়নি। এর মহিমাকে সমুন্নত করার জন্য প্রজন্ম প্রজন্ম ধরে মানুষকে ধৈর্য এবং অধ্যবসায় সহকারে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হয়ছিল। পৃথিবীতে আমাদের সকল কাজের ক্ষেত্রেই এটি প্রযোজ্য। সকলেই মহত্ত্ব কামনা করে কিন্তু খুব কম মানুষই এটি অর্জন করতে করে। এটি একারণে যে, অধিকাংশ মানুষেরই তাদের লক্ষ্যের সাথে লেগে থাকার ধৈর্য এবং অধ্যবসায় নেই। অসুবিধার সম্মুখীন হলে শুরুতেই তারা সাহস হারিয়ে ফেলে এবং নৈরাশ্যে সম্পূর্ণভাবে হাল ছেড়ে দেয়। পক্ষান্তরে, কেউ কেউ আছেন যারা দৃঢ মনোবল নিয়ে সকল জটিলতা মোকাবেলা করে কাজ চালিয়ে যান। তারা একবার অথবা দু'বার অথবা এমনকি বারবার ব্যর্থ হতে পারেন। তথাপি সাহস এবং দৃঢ়তার সাথে তারা তাদের কাজ চালিয়ে যান যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত না পরিশেষে সফলতা তাদের কাছে ধরা দেয়। স্কটল্যান্ডের রবার্ট ব্রুস এবং মাকড়সার বিখ্যাত কাহিনীটি এ সত্যটিই প্রমান করে যে প্রকৃতপক্ষে ধৈর্য সহকারে পরিশ্রম না করলে মহৎ কোন কিছুই অর্জন করা যায় না।
