Manual Entry in the Bank Journal 1. Manual Entry in the Bank Journal When you enter a transaction in the journal linked to Local Currency Bank 1, you can: Create two lines in the same accounting document: Line 1: 51211000 as a debit (e.g., withdrawal or payment) Line 2: 51211000 as a credit (e.g., deposit or receipt) This allows you to view the transactions separately, even if the balance is zero. This format is useful for internal transfers, check deposits, or accounting corrections. 2. Disable automatic merging of entries In the entry settings, ensure that the "Merge entries on the same account" option is disabled: Go to Initialization > Preferences > Entry Entry Look for the options related to display and validation Disable: "Automatic validation on zero balance" and "Merge identical lines" This ensures that Sage does not aggregate lines into a single entry, even if they relate to the same account. 3. Result: Clear comparison with the bank statement Once these settings are applied: Your journals will display each transaction separately Account 51211000 will appear as a debit and a credit, according to the transactions You will be able to accurately reproduce the lines on the bank statement And facilitate bank reconciliation, especially at the end of the month or fiscal year.
