Accessing Company Settings 1. Accessing Company Settings Open Sage Accounting 100. Go to the File menu > Company Settings. Select the Banks / Bank Transactions tab. Locate the section related to importing bank statements. In this section, disable the option: "Generate a single offsetting entry" This prevents Sage from creating one accounting entry per statement line, with one debit and one credit line. 2. Setting up the Local Currency Bank 1 Journal Go to Structure > Journals. Select the journal associated with Local Currency Bank 1. Verify that this journal is linked to an active bank account number (RIB). In the journal properties, ensure that the entry mode is configured to generate entries line by line. Tip: You can name this journal explicitly, for example, "ML1 Bank - Details," to easily distinguish it. 3. Test and validate the configuration Import or manually enter a bank statement into Local Currency Bank 1. Verify in the journal that each transaction appears correctly on two lines: One debit line (e.g., cash outflow) One credit line (e.g., cash inflow or offsetting entry) Review the journal to confirm that the transactions are correctly categorized and that bank reconciliation is facilitated.
