> Many women have to move alone in Dhaka city due to study, job or work. In a city of millions of people, women are still alone. They have to avoid various obstacles and unwanted incidents. This is a sample of the modern city! Where women do not feel safe. Report this.

We seem to have forgotten to be surprised. One incident after another happens which gives pain, anger gives birth. It may be tolerated at some point in the course of time, but does the intense fear in the depths of the mind disappear? This city, this city of souls, our souls tremble on the way.

A student of Dhaka University was raped in Kurmitola of the capital on January 5 at around 6 pm. He was walking on the sidewalk from Kurmitola bus stand. When he reached the place near the golf club, a man grabbed him by the neck from behind and threw him on the ground. He grabbed her by the throat and beat her. When the student became unconscious, he raped her. A man named Majnu was later arrested in the incident. According to the RAB, the 26-year-old was a "serial rapist". Beggars or disabled women were the main victims of Hawker Majnoor.

It can be said with certainty that every woman's chest trembled in this incident. It is not a planned crime, it can be said that whoever was at the scene at that time would have been the victim of this horrible incident. However, there is no reason to think that this is an exceptional event.

The incident came to our notice as the student of Dhaka University told her friends and teachers about the injustice done to her. Dhaka University has protested against this. The culprit was immediately arrested during the student protest. However, this is not always the case. Affected women became silent with intense fear and panic of society and so-called shame.

Security is nowhere to be found

When is it safe? Where is the safe? There seems to be no answer to these questions. You can't go out alone, you can't go out in the evening, you can't go out to play in adolescence, you can't go on the roof, you have to close the windows on the side of the road, there are restrictions on clothing যেন everything should be made clear, women, you are safe No. Is it possible to save so much fear?

On July 5 last year, seven-year-old Samia Akhter was raped and strangled to death in the capital's Wari. Samia went to play in a flat in the building. His body was later found in a flat under construction in the same building.

How many incidents? The horrible people around this city of life snatch away the childhood of the girls and spread thorns in their normal way. Soma, who works in a private company, said she goes to Mirpur by bus from Motijheel every night after office hours. After coming to Mirpur No. 11, there are often no more passengers in the bus. Soma said, ‘It’s so scary. I keep praying all the time. Sometimes I talk to my father or a friend on the phone. There is so much panic! 'There is reason for panic. Incidents like rape on a moving bus in the capital no longer surprise us.

Does anyone feel completely safe?

Whether working in a senior position or a student of a large educational institution, worker or housewife — does anyone feel completely safe? That day a woman was standing in Kalshi looking for a rickshaw. It was nine o'clock at night. Suddenly, two young men on a motorcycle touched the woman unintentionally. He fell. The hand is badly cut. He later returned home with the help of some people in the area. Once such an incident will not interfere with his normal movement?

Recently a woman published an incident on social media. He said that one night he left his house to go to his father's house. He took a rickshaw to the CNG-powered autorickshaw station and saw nothing. Stand a little further in a place for transportation. Work is underway on the Metrorail project a little further away. The workers are resting under a tent. At three o'clock a car came. Passed away, suddenly backed away again. A man inside the car said ugly by lowering the window glass. The woman, standing alone, immediately sensed danger. But he could not move due to the suddenness of the incident. The man got down and told the woman to get in the car. He even pulled her by the hand. His bag fell to the ground, so he couldn't even call anyone for help. At the end he shouted ‘Daddy save me’ and tried to move the man with all his might. At his shout the two came forward. They had big torches in their hands. One removed the woman. Another beat the man with a torch. Seeing the situation strange, the man fled. The woman said she could not sleep for several nights after the incident. Awakened by all the terrible dreams. He also sought the help of a psychiatrist.

It is impossible to say how these events affect a girl's life. And those who do not face these events, they also become traumatized and lose the speed of normal movement. Some people even think of leaving the country in panic. Many may take some measures of their own to build resistance, learn self-defense exercises. How safe do you still feel?

According to the general registration book of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court and the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CGM) Court, a total of 545 cases of rape and gang-rape were registered in Dhaka last year. There have been cases of these, but there are many cases that have not come to light. It has become a city of terror for womenDoes anyone feel completely safe?

Let the path of women be safe. Let the path of women be safe

The victim is to blame

If something happens in a woman's life, then the society starts arguing about what is wrong. The first thing to know is what the girl was wearing, where she was going, whether she had any boyfriends with her, why she went out so late at night, whether the girl has any favorite people etc. If none of this can be attributed to the cause of the incident, then it is said directly, what was the need to go out alone?

In our patriarchal society, it is the fault of women to lose lime from drinking. The society does not even go through the real problem to find the fault of the girl. In many families, parents beat their children in front of their children. The feeling that women have to be controlled by imposing restrictions on their movement was instilled in their heads. 'Women have less intelligence', 'Men need permission to go out', 'Wife's paradise under husband's feet', 'Family does not go away when daughter is drunk', 'If wife does not have son, wife's responsibility', 'Lucky cow dies, lucky wife dies' সবAll such proverbs are formed in the mind of a small child from childhood that women are for men.

The girl child of our family has to prove again and again like a cartoon minaret, she also has equal rights in everything. With this kind of familial notion, the boy who gradually becomes a teenager beyond the age of children and adolescents does not have the same respect for women. At the same time, the society itself does not know when the racist mentality is created in the boys by blaming women's clothing from childhood. In any case, the victim is to blame.

Resistance must be built

In such a socialization, these can no longer be called undesirable events. It is the manifestation of a decaying society. We have to build resistance to this. The girl who is being tortured, what will

happen to her - without crying, the society has to point the finger at the boy who is the rapist. He must be taught to hate his crime. There is no responsibility of women in this, there can be no. It has to be established socially.

Sociologist Mahbuba Nasreen said, "Every single incident comes to the fore and our consciousness is awakened. But such incidents are happening every day. Insecurity comes to the fore in every case. '

Our women have to move on. However, these incidents make women panic on the way. The law and order situation needs to be improved as well as socially vocal. Socialization is different in Bangladesh. ‘Girls don’t sit like this’, ‘

Girls don’t talk loudly’, ‘Boys don’t cry like girls’, ‘Boys don’t have to be ashamed’ — these ideas are instilled in the head from an early age. Even before 2013, the textbook did not think of changing this. But now they are trying to change the matter, which is very important.

According to Mahbuba Nasreen, to make this city safe, one has to take care of it from the roots. We need to understand

that no one is safe. Women, children, boys, no one. Security needs to be beefed up in areas of the capital where security is considered to be in short supply. In this way, even a little bit of security can be brought.
