Results are in: My eyes aren't any worse than they were a few years ago. They haven't gotten any better, but at least they haven't gotten worse. My left eye is still the problem. I have a script for glasses, but I'm wondering if laser would be a better approach. Gotta see what my insurance will cover.

I had lasik sometime ago, probably in 2003 or 2004. My eye doctor talked like my vision wasn't that bad even then, but I did have glasses because contacts that didn't correct astigmatism weren't good enough for me and my eye doctor didn't want to prescribe astigmatism correcting contacts. The advice I got then was to go to a reputable place and not one of the places that advertises how cheap they are. The procedure was no big deal, but I had to wear goggles for the rest of the first day and overnight the first few nights. I doubt that has changed since they still cut the flap. I also had to use artificial tear eye drops pretty frequently for about 10 years before my eyes stopped being excessively dry afterwards. I was fortunate not to get the halo effect, even when driving at night, so I'm pretty happy with the results overall. Unfortunately, even though both eyes tested 20/15 (not farsighted, but better than 20/20), I never really felt like I could see that well when it comes to reading even though life and pictures just pop. I think that has to be mental, but I don't know what there is to do about it. This much later, I'm still 20/15 in one eye, but "only "20/20 in the other. It's crazy, but 20/20 feels like "can't see" compared to 20/15, that or else I've got some astigmatism coming back in one eye.
