Been thinking about the interesting dynamic behind the FreeTip system here. It was actually a post by @k1ll1van1ll1 that made me think about this. I don't really have many followers, so I tip fairly high when I can. Unless the amount of FreeTip income increases with popularity, it seems like more popular people will be handing out less per tip, since they will probably be tipping more people. Unless the FreeTip allocation is scaled with activity, I doubt I'd be able to keep up with my current tipping rates (at least, until we can tip from our wallets)

I don't think FreeTips have anything to do with popularity. They may have to do with activity, but they likely also have to do with location and some behind-the-scenes credibility score. It's certainly a proprietary not-to-be-disclosed function. I'm not sure if you're familiar with read.cash, but if you are, you may have noticed discussion of the various funding methods and how people tried to cheat them over time. For instance, here's a change that was discussed in detail: https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/upcoming-changes-to-the-point-system-e8c54533 and here's a post about cheaters taking advantage of another system: https://noise.cash/post/1r6rjxq1 AFAIK, you can tip from your wallet, it's just a bit risky until they get the code stabilized (and probably an integrated wallet). Based on experience with read.cash and working with the developer on certain tipping bugs, I'm guessing the biggest risk is due to the lack of integrated wallet. My theory here assumes that the QR code tipping function is a minimally functional integrated wallet that doesn't have a way to recover funds in the event of a glitch.
I try to tip as high as I can. So if I have 9cents I split it between 3 deserving posts. If I can’t find 3 then it all goes to one. I have however found a fair amount of people who post pretty decent content so I manage to split it fairly most days.
