Hey guys! What's up?
How are you here everyone. I was not able to have an update here since the day I was so busy with paper requirements for my sub-teaching until I started my journey as a teacher last November 4, 2022
So, I just want to share it to you now since I able to wake up at this hour and not that busy (for the meantime, lol).
Last week, Thursday, I went to the division and passed my requirements, sad to say that my I d that time was not yet printed that's why I need to go back to Tacloban again. And Friday came whenn was my first start of the job. So my job will last for 3 months and 15 days so, I will be teaching for long until quarter 2 will be done. And I started the quarter 2 lessons since they're done with quarter one. But I didn't had my first classes on Friday and just a get to know my students yet. Now, I am handling Mapeh subject which is way far from my major which is Math, but yeah no worries chooorrr because this time for sure I'll study the topics and it's not new to me to handle other subjects than Math.
Now, when I get to know with the students, I was happy for they welcomed me that warm. I handled for sections of Grade 10, one section of Grade 8 and Grade 7. I was a bit nervous to be honest since it's been three years that I was not in the field but then happy to say that I conquer the feelings. I have an advisory since the teacher that I subbed teach have that's why every morning I will go to their classroom and same as well in the afternoon before I let them go home. Why? Because I need to see to it that they are doing their roles in the classroom especially their cleaning set up. But then, I learned that they are not yet grouped for cleaning the classroom. So, I grouped them and started at Monday, I asked someone to write down the names of those who helped.
Handling my students within this week was actually hard especially that every section were cpmposed of more than 50 students. I need to make sure that my voice was loud. And honestly, I started to feel a bit of dryness in my throat, huhuhu that's why I drink a lot of water. Also, with regards to their subject topics, I need to give time to myself to study with it since it's Mapeh and I need to search and download videos for the topics to be discussed which means I need to make sure I have loads for downloading videos. Unlike with Math that I sometimes don't study coz I able to familiarize the lesson while making lesson plan and don't need to study as it's easy to explain in showing the solution on the board. While in Mapeh, I need to make sure that what I am talking in front of them is true especially about places and cultures of other countries, my gulay talaga laki na lalo ng eyebags ko.
I also made friends with other teachers, especially the Mapeh teachers who are so lively and happy people. All I noticed with them is that they're so friendly and not toxic because they just laugh even if I seen them having a hard time because of their loads. With that I and my partner realized that if our son will be a high schooler, we will let them took SPA program that performed music , dance, theatre and arts. I am amazed with the students who are good in singing, dancing and arts that's why I want our son to take that program instead of STE which is about science, math and others. I just like SPA because it enhance the innate talents and skill of the student who love music and arts. And it's my dream to learn how to hold and play with instrument and sing confidently in front of other people which I want my son to enhance when he gets bigger.
Okay, that's all for today guys. I will continue to write my journey soon. Have a nice day everyone.
