Loneliness increases our mental worries. Due to this, we may also have to face many types of health problems. Recently, a research reported that experiencing loneliness increases the risk of unemployment in the future. People who say 'they often feel lonely' are more likely to lose their jobs in the future. The findings of the research, led by a team from the University of Exeter, were published in the journal BMC Public Health. Earlier studies have shown that being unemployed makes one feel more lonely. Conversely, the findings of this study suggest that the loneliness of working people can increase unemployment. However, the researchers also upheld the findings of the previous study. Lead author of this research Nia Maris said, "Loneliness and unemployment both have negative effects on our health and economic status, so they should be taken seriously."
