To all Nigerians

When they hear “from Nigeria”, they gaze around to see the brave heart, the heart that wins. As we celebrate our independence, it's very vital to key in our minds the positive achievements regardless of the devastating challenges being faced.

LEGACIES

Nigerians have been keeping legacies everywhere we . Quite number of Nigerians have gulp international awards by merit telling the world that success is a Nigerian.

When you talk of the Academics, our students within and abroad are always the best graduating students by merit, lecturers, proffesors, Engineers, medical personnels, Sportsmens and variety of careers are performing greatly. Some of them are being withheld during or after their studies abroad because of their brain, a brain of a Nigerian.

This alone can hinder the call for backwardness from others. We're blessed, we should appreciate that.

History

The history of Nigeria has been crucially impacted by the transatlantic slave trade which started in Nigeria in the late 15th century. Nigeria became a British protectorate in the year 1901, while it colonization lasted until 1960, when an independence movement succeeded in gaining her independent, afterwhich became a republic in the year 1963. Same year 1963, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa became Nigeria's first Prime Minister while Nnamdi Azikwe became the first President under the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The first coup by the then nationalists led to the death of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa in the year 1966. Again, a separatist movement by our heroes past formed the republic of Biafra in the year 1967 which led to a three (3) year Nigeria civil war.

Today, we celebrate the labour of our dear heroes past, whose strength never went in vein, who served Nigeria with love and strength, who slept not when the country needed their utmost intervention. They served our fatherland with passion, love, strength and faith. Uphold it honour and glory.

Our free life today is the result of 60 years of struggle and sacrifice of many thousands.. Big Salute to these great lives who fought the independence of Nigeria.

Let us rejoice in happiness and indulge in merry celebrations as we salute them who made it possible… Who made Nigeria stand high and mighty. Let us make them our inspiration.

Indeed, from Struggle, To Freedom, To Progress, Nigeria moves forward. Celebrating with you the pride of being part of a nation that is eternal and ever-new.
