History of the name Cabiao

Cabiao, Nueva Ecija is located in Nueva Ecija , the rice granary of the Philippines , a part of Central Luzon.

Cabiao came from the work " Kabyaw " . This is the name of the stone structure operated by the carabao. This stone use to crash sugar cane to get the juice from it.

It was first introduced by the woman named Romana. The kabyawan became familiar to the other places and the place where it was located called Kabyawan. Time passed it was called as Kaybaw and later on due to the influence of modern alphabet is was called by the name Cabiao.
