Exciting Mt. Daraitan
There is this saying from Jaime Lyn Beatty that jobs fill your pockets, but adventures fill your soul. Before I began my journey to Mt. Daraitan, I resigned to my job, it was one exhausted job that's why I left. My co-workers planned the trip and I decided to join them before I proceed to my new work. We joined a travel agency- Happy Trekkers PH, organized by Sir Alfred Our meet up was in McDonalds- Shaw Boulevard. Arrived at 10pm and we wait for other joiners.
We left the city by almost midnight and reached Tanay, Rizal at 3am. We ready ourselves to a short seminae and we bought gloves for the protection of our hands. When we are about to start, a heavy rain poured down and we are all soaking wet. When you do hiking it's like risking your life so better be careful at all times. Mt. Daraitan is surrounded by big rocks and limestone. It was very slippery because of rain so we are require to wear the gloves.
Crawling is the best option if you do not want to experience sliding in the mud, bump and get hurt to a rock. As a traveller, do not believe to your organizer if he said that is minor climb. It is minor climb if it did not rain. Mt. Daraitan is 739 m above sea level. Our trail took six hours because there are other groups of joiners on that day. We need to wait for our turn to make our good posing for every peak.
We do not have a good shot in Mt. Daraitan's peak because it was raining and we are surrounded of fogs. And we are all praying for clearing of fogs. Although we did not get the good shot, the most important is we are all safe.
Next is the heart peak, where you will wait to be called and be ready for your best posing. I was tired when we get there and my legs are shaking because it was too high and tired. You can see below the Tinipak River. So my shot was just sitting on the heart peak.
After the trek, we ate our lunch and we proceed to Tinipak river. We took a bath, enjoy the clear water and relaxed to the beauty of nature. We called our group. Team Alfred.
For every journey we experienced, always remember that it is a gain. New friends, feeding your soul even if you're tired physically and it is another milestone achieved for ourselves. Thank you for reading this. ❤
