My Mt. Ulap Adventure

Travelling is one of our "me time". Finding yourself by doing what you want and through nature. Back in May, 2017, I decided to join a hiking travel agency- Adventure Passport, the tour was to Mt. Ulap, Itogon, Benguet, Baguio. That was a new experienced to me because I did it alone and did it as first time joiner. First, our meet up was in Cubao, Quezon City. I remember, I was not familiar in the place so I used the google map. Took a bus going there and walked through to the meet up place which is McDonalds. Since it was my first time to travel far alone, I am the first member to arrived in the meeting place. Because I'm afraid that I might be lost going there so I made it earlier. Then, I met our travel coordinator. We wait for other joiners. I am shy person so I didn't get along to the other joiners. This is me waiting.

We took a van, it was going to 12 midnight when we left. Along the journey, in van I talked to other joiners and discover that they are also from PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) my alma mater, but we are from different campus. I made friends easily. We arrived at Benguet at 3am. Started hiking at 4am. If you already been in Baguio, you will know how cold there and the scenic view, it will wow you, I mean it is breathtaking.

Mt. Ulap is a 1846 m above sea level and 9km walk. We made to first peak at 6am. It is call Ambanaw Paway, see the perfect hill. The journey was fun, the fogs follow us every time we took a rest and drank water. Second peak is called the Gungal Rock, which you will be photograph in an inclined rock. Third peak, is the Mt.Ulap peak. A total of six hours hiking. It was hard but worth it.

We ate our lunch together. I tried the red rice they have in the shop and the pork sinigang. We also bought a shirt as souvenir of our Mt. Ulap adventure.

After the hike, there are bathrooms available but the water is cold as ice, so be ready for it once you try to go there.

It was all worth it, though I went home alone but I gain new friends and experience. It was one of the bravest things I did so far. Mt. Ulap was my 2nd hike. Thank you for reading this. ❤
