Precipitate Formation Of Pectin Indeed pectin is a sort of biomolecule that is carbohydrate in nature. We got it from the orange peel and it's good for digestion of food and may be source of energy. We had an experiment to extract it from peel and make it's crystals by adding different chemicals such as chloroform, ethanol and natural acids. It was quite expensive with concentrated acids. That's why we decided to use dilute acids.
