What If You Could See Regret as a Color? Imagine walking into a room where people aren’t hiding anything. Not behind fake smiles. Not behind polite “I’m fine.” Not behind quiet stares out the window. Imagine if regret glowed. What color would it be? Maybe soft blue, like old sorrow. Or dark violet, like heavy memories that still echo. Or maybe regret would burn gold — warm, but painful to look at too long. What if every time someone wished they had said “I love you,” a faint shimmer lit up their skin? What if every road not taken left a glowing line behind your steps — paths you almost walked, lives you almost lived? You’d see it in people’s hands. In their eyes. In the way they held themselves slightly smaller than they used to. But here’s what’s strange… If we could see each other’s regrets — maybe we’d be kinder. We wouldn’t judge the one who drinks too much. Or mock the one who’s too quiet. Or ask, “Why are you still holding on to that?” We’d already know. They’re glowing with things they never got to fix. And maybe if we saw each other’s regret, we’d start forgiving each other sooner. Loving each other louder. Leaving fewer things unsaid. Because in the end, the color of regret… is probably invisible only so we don’t drown in it. But still — I kind of wish we could see it. Just for a moment. So we’d remember to live while we still can
