If You Truly Love Someone… Would You Want the World to See Their Beauty? They say when you love someone, you want the world to see how beautiful they are. To admire them. To praise them. To say, “You’re lucky.” But is that really love? Let me tell you a story. He loved her. Not just for how she looked — but for how her laughter echoed in quiet rooms, for the way her eyes held storms and softness at the same time. She was poetry in a world full of noise. And yet... Every time they stepped out together, he would say, “Wear this color. It suits you.” “Leave your hair open today. It looks magical.” She smiled. She thought it was sweet. She didn’t know that every time she glowed in front of others, he watched their eyes. He noticed how strangers looked a second too long. How someone complimented her perfume. How even his own friends leaned in closer. He didn't say much. But inside, something twisted. Not in anger — but in fear. Because he didn’t want her to be a trophy. He didn’t want people to look at her and think, “If she ever leaves him…” He loved her so deeply, he didn’t want anyone else to know how magical she truly was. He wanted her beauty to be something sacred. Not displayed. Not shared. Not admired like an art piece. Not because he didn't trust her. But because he felt, "This wonder belongs to me. And I’m terrified of the world seeing it." Jealousy? Maybe. But sometimes, true love carries quiet fear. Not of losing them, but of someone else realizing what you’ve been lucky enough to find. Because when you love someone like art, you don't want to hang them in a museum. You want to keep them where only you can go. Where only you understand the meaning behind every color, every scar, every stroke. Is this love beautiful or selfish? Is it protection or control? Is wanting someone all to yourself… a sin or just deep love in disguise? Let me know what you think. If you truly love someone, would you be proud to show them off to the world? Or would a small part of you wish they stayed hidden — just for you? Thank you for reading. 🖤 I'm waiting to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
