⚜ The Memorial Tomb of Kapllan Pasha ⚜ ▫️The Memorial Tomb of Kapllan Pasha, one of Tirana's rulers, was built at the beginning of the XIX century and it is estimated that it was built around 1820-1830, and it is part of the monumental tombs' complex of the first mosque of Tirana that was destroyed during World War II. ▪️The memorial tomb in itself represents a monumental tomb that has an octagonal plan, built with carved stones. The structure is four meters high and is composed of eight classical columns connected with each-other by way of arches. One of these columns contains an inscription about Kapllan Toptani that is illegible today with the exception of the date 1326 AH (according to the Muslim calendar). ▫️Kapllan Pasha was buried here in the XIX century, but his remains were later moved to Istanbul. #photography #noisecash #randomthoughts #history #travel
