🔘The Ancient theatre of Taormina🔘 ⚫It is an ancient Greek theatre located in Taormina, Sicily, Italy. ⚫The structure we see today is a 2nd century AD Roman reconstruction of the 3rd century BC Greek theatre. ⚫The Greek Theatre of Taormina is the second-largest theatre of Sicily, after the one in Syracuse. ⚫The theatre was built to accommodate dramatic performances or musicals, then it was transformed during the Roman times to make room for games and gladiatorial battles. ⚫The theatre had a diameter of 107 metres (351 ft) and could hold around 10,000 spectators. ⚫Since the 50s the theatre has been tapped to host various forms of entertainment like theatre, concerts, the award ceremonies of the David di Donatell, symphonies, operas and ballets.
