Carry On

This article is to show how difficult life maybe for other families especially during pandemic that even as early age as this kid knows already how to earn money.

Who can relate this picture?She is an 8 years old who sell varieties of vegetables with her mother.Even though it rained they are still going to pursue their business for the sake of providing the needs of their family.Her mother had to carry this almost 15-20 kilos of vegetables in a basket composed of string beans ,cucumber,tomato,lemon and many more.They used to put it already on a cellophane which amount 5- 25 pesos per pack of vegetables.

While carrying that basket in the middle of the rain, they also bring an extra clothes so that they will change when they reached the other barangay. This mother and daughter tandem was a good example of a family that helps together .The fact that this kid was too young she don’t hesitate to come with her mama.

For me, it’s a good way of earning than just to keep on begging for food and small amount of penny in the streets.Their way of living runs with the family because her grandmother was also a vegetable vendor who used to carry heavy loads everyday and so their children are doing until their grandchildren also learn from it.

She’s a classmate of my daughter who is in grade 3 already but I can say that she is very responsible than my daughter, because my daughter even don’t know how to help me with basic household chores but this girl can do selling and watching her little sister.

I think because they are raised with their parents with that kind of way of earning ,they are having hard time in terms with foods and basic needs so they are already knew how hard life is today.

Personally I didn’t even tried to do this kind of job in my life.First of all,I was too shy to walk in the road carrying a basket of goods to sell.My daughter actually laughed at me because I can’t even do what this kid can do.

Some reasons why kids are doing this

Life today is getting harder

Thats the reality that a lot of Filipinos are facing today, the economy is having a hard time to gain back into normal situation and the poor people had to strive harder just to earn and provide the family.Some are even one day, one eat, if they can’t earn for a day they will have no food in the table.

Jobless Parents

Our parents aren’t really wrong when they always repeatedly told us to study first before we enter the kingdom of love because they knew how hard life is today.For real, it’s so hard to get married without a proper source of income it’s really very hard.I can say that it happens to me during at the first 6 months of my marriage life when my husband and I doesn’t have work and any source of income.We experience even using just a firewood as a lamp because we don’t even have an electricity or a lamp.But as years goes by God has blessed us enough to sustain our needs and I don’t want that my children won’t suffer the same.

As we live each day having food and clothing, shelter and work, there’s no reason that we will not thank the Lord for that provision.

Carry on the yolk that we have to carry each day in our daily life to survive.Like seeking for food and other basic necessities for our children we have to endure and take courage as parents and to those who are soon become parent as well.

As I saw these kid even if it is unusual for her to do this,she didn’t complain to her mother but she did it with a smile on her face and an opportunity to help her parents.When a child can witness how difficult life is they will become courageous and wise when they grow old,they are the people who will not waste every opportunity that life may take them to.But they are the one who knows how to endure and survive.

Not specifically that we teach our kids to do the same as what this kids do but children must learn to responsible with their life and they should to do simple task .

We don’t know what life will bring in the coming years of our earths existence, it maybe become tougher but as far as they they are equip they will surely conquer and survive.
