You are Unique
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14)
Your existence is not by chance neither is it by accident; you were not just born to add to the number of men and women on earth. Your existence has been designed even before you were born. You are wonderfully and fearfully made. Think what a remarkable miraculous thing it is to be you. Of all the people who have come and gone on the earth, since the beginning of time, not one of them is like you. No one who has ever lived or is to come has had your combination of abilities, talents, appearance, friends, burdens, sorrows and opportunities. You were not meant to be like someone else. You were meant to be different. If you do not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap in history something missing from the plan for humankind. Do you know that there is something unique about you? There is will make the world regard you. No matter how poor, neglected, or downtrodden you are, you have what it takes to be at the top, succeed and make it.
Not discovering oneself is dangerous in life. No one is like you on earth; think of the thousands of kinds of flowers in the world. They are all flowers, but each one is unique in its species. You may have seen someone that has the same face as yours or his or her leg resembles in some aspects, but no one resembles you in all things. This is a special gift God endowed you with. Therefore, you must know that you are unique. I said that you are unique. My friend, why do you look down on yourself? Why do you think that you are not capable of doing what you want to do? Yes! You may be maimed, short, fat, slim but something special is in you. You don’t have to compare or compete with anyone or anything else. You are the only person on earth who can live your life. No one else can live your life. No one else is in competition with you to complete the task God has given you. You can look at others as models and even be provoked by others to work harder in various areas of your endeavour, but you should not allow anyone except Jesus to be your standard. You are full of potentials. You are full of gifts. What and who you are cannot be seen with the physical eyes. You are more than what the eyes can see. For you to know this uniqueness in you, you must recognize your positive qualities; write down all your positive qualities. Think about what you most like about yourself, and what others seem to like about you. Always see the good in you.
