The effect of Covid 19 on Education
Covid19 was one Virus that struck the world unknowingly, the world wasn't prepared for this shocker, many things wasn't in place for this virus but never the less it changed the way and thinking of humans
This pandemic has greatly changed the education system for the better. Throughout history, the sector has been conservative and resistant to change even with much effort but since the advent of the novel corona virus everything seems to change rapidly. From the beginning of time it had the slate, then came a century of blackboard and chalk. Now students got information by just pressing their phone and accessing the internet. Covid19 has given schools a lot of platform for students, business men, politicians, lecturers, professors and most academia the birth of great ideas to invent tools/Application which helps to make isolating much more easier, Application such as **Zoom, Microsoft and Google Classroom**. The technology turns a laptop screen into a classroom, where students and teachers see each other and can question each other in truly collaborative online learning. Many institutions in the world have started curbing this practice in making distance learning fun and achievable, recently a university in Nigeria did her Matriculation online which was attended by thousand of students across the nation. The computer/Mobile device has become so important that I believe computing science should be taken at Waec/GCE by every student Necessity they say really is the mother of invention.

There are always two sides to a coin. Despite the disadvantages of Covid-19, the major advantage of it is that it has forced most people to embrace ICT the more.

One of the major aspect of society that was affected is education. I still prefer a physical classroom over virtual.
We have to flow with the world, this could be the beginning of a new era.
I agree . But the feel of an actual classroom, meeting your friends at school and making up memories can never be replaced
Your right tho, but have your heard of Slack and a lots of innovative app can also be used to meet up intellectuals all around the world in a particular field.
Yeah I know now there are multiple apps that have come up recently to solve the issue and let people meet virtually

Perhaps with you, students see the teacher with us that is not the case. You need a good internet connection for it and without you can't join. Here teachers sent homework and that's it. They all use a different way for it, do not answer questions and most are too lazy to explain. It's chaotic and messy and they could use some courses on how to use the internet, send homework, etc. Children need to be online the whole day from 7 am till 8 pm to search for the homework. Being present and scheduling seems to be hard for a teacher. Let's hope homeschooling will be improved like in other countries. Not each child likes to sit in a noisy classroom with bullies.
You've pointed out some major point affecting education in the midst of covid 19, and I buy your view, I pray we upgrade how we do thing in Africa.
I hope they do the same here. My internet is really bad and if teachers would give homework for a week it would cause way less stress.
At first when the virus came, I was happy to finally take a break from school. But now it's something else, the break is being too long.
