Success Is Obedience
Trust and obey The Ancient Book gives us an account of a Prophet called Moses who was leading the children of Israel. He was the person whom God had used to deliver the people from slavery in Egypt for over 400 years. Now, this Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt through the wilderness for 40 years and the Lord was with them. God had been using the Prophet Moses to meet their needs and to appropriately feed them with food and water but humans never get satisfied so they were usually complaining and murmuring and they never stopped. They had been living off of God's divine commands and had always been seeing the results but this people of Israel were stubborn and stiff necked and didn't know God. If they knew God, they wouldn't have frustrated Moses with murmur and complain every blessed day of that 40 years. They had seen the mighty hand of God over and over and over again but still didn't trust God enough to be 'still and know' that He is God. Miracles do not really build trust; relationship does. Miracles can spur you into a relationship but it is relationship that ultimately builds trust. This people - unlike Moses - didn't have any relationship with God and couldn't trust God. Moses knew God but they only knew Moses and they didn't even trust Moses enough so how could they even trust and obey God? It is impossible to obey without trusting first. Trust is ultimately predicated upon relationship and not upon what is said or done. As much as words and acts can be amazing and can spur excitement, praise or even sobriety, the ultimate balance is weighed on trust. After the excitement, the praise and soberness, the ultimate balance is weighed on trust. It is trust that will determine whether you will stay, commit and diligently hearken to what you have heard or seen and what will bring this is relationship. This people of Israel only knew God's acts and not God's way because they had no relationship with God. God's way is the path of trust and obedience. You must learn to trust and obey for there is no other way! This people had seen the hand of God and the manifestations but kept on disobeying and disobeying the LORD. Many of them suffered the great penalty of disobedience which led to their death and some others survived by gazing upon the Way. So the former failed and missed the Promised Land and the latter inherited the Promise. Success is far from reach if you're living in disobedience not just to your Maker but also to your personal development. Please examine your relationship with your Creator for if it is faulty, then you are faulty and will place yourself under the hand of disobedience. Also evaluate yourself to see if you are truly committed to your personal development. With all things being equal, your spiritual development is a fundamental part of your personal development. So trust and obey for learning obedience is the focal point of your relationship with God. Happy Sunday.
