I tried to persuade a friend to invest in Bitcoincash today but he mentioned its marketcap. I don't know how these things works but it seems people go into some coins based on market cap. Currently BCH is not in the top 10 based on marketcap. Is there anything we can do to bring it up in the ranking? . Also does marketcap truly matters?

I think it's better to ask you friend about the reason why marketcap is important to them. For some it means the liquidity and stability. For others lower marketcaps are more attractive because they more upside potential
Hmmm. Thanks, i asked this same Question on Torum and someone sent a message to me. He said almost the same thing as this
I don't see where the problem is with the market cap. Bch is over 11 billion in market cap. Which I think is pretty healthy. And also have a limited supply of just 21 million. Don't see the problem.
Kindly check where it stands compared to other coins. Last time i checked it was number 19 on the list. Even LTC is above it. As i said i don't know the impact of marketcap on a coin but i can say for a thing thay people look at the market cap before investing in a coin.
"people look at the market cap before investing in a coin" I agree 100% but I would not invest in a coin based solely on the market cap. I don't think the market cap, which is the sum value of all of that coin in the market, represents the true value of the coin. Shiba and doge has a higher market cap than bch, by your own logic are you saying they have more value than bch? Moreover some good coins with low market cap only tells me there is more growth potential for that coin even though at a slightly more risk.
