I'm a Quantity surveyor The profession Quantity surveying is unknown to many, sometimes people mix it up with the Land surveyor. The Quantity surveyor is also known as the Estimator, cost engineer, Valuer amongst others. The sole duty of the Quantity surveying is to give the probably cost of a project before it inception, we give the price of labour,plant and material by providing a BOQ, and we see to it that the client get to save himself from unnecessary cost but at the same time not reducing standard I.e he get value for his money.
