Quick Facts about Volunteers Often times when the community doesn't have much space to offer for sleeping areas for the volunteers. Thank volunteers carry with them some tents as their temporary shelter during their stay in the remote communities. Having a tent as temporary shelter gives the community at ease for now being able to provide a simple shelter to the people who will help them in this difficult situation. Having a tent as well gives the volunteers the opportunity to relax if time permits it. Usually the volunteers pitch their tents in a nearby school as it has a big playground area suitable for establishing tent. Please the attached photo for additional information. One of the most difficult part of field work in remote communities is crossing rivers. Particularly rivers with soft river beds, one wrong move you will end up swallowed by the river bed ground. One good example of it is the attached photos were the volunteers one by one cross the identified path. The river bed must not be overwhelmed to avoid it from collapsing into the soft river bed ground. I hope this gives the reader, viewers and friends of mine who are curious about field work in the remote communities particularly the difficult side of it. And the challenging part as well.
