"A Mom filled with Love and Compassion" It took the community volunteers almost 19 hours to reach the community of Nanay (Mother) Elaine who manage her family on her own as his husband died due to severe lung problem. Nanay Elaine is just one of many single parents in the community as their husband manage the farms or do hard labor in the forest to collect firewood and sell it to the traders in the lowlands. The parents in the remote community reach out to the volunteer teachers to aid their families particularly their children who have the difficulties in health as their natural remedies are not working anymore with the current health of their children given that their children are expose to modern and unhealthy food. The community volunteers and youth volunteers visited the far flung community to conduct a general survey along with food pack and vitamins distribution. The parents felt happy and important with the assistance they received. Also the children got the opportunity to acquire school kits, supplemental feeding and little snacks and freebies. Truly it was a worth it visit despite the distance and difficulties needed to pass through. All of it payed off very well as the parents and children enjoyed the small gifts they gave obtained and experience. This Uwan at your service. See you later in the next post.
