Those readers who read my articles consistently know that yesterday I wrote an article about the Joint Family system in which I comprehensively explained the advantages and disadvantages of the Joint Family System. They would also know that the previous article was only part first of the three articles. I am about to write the second part today. If you are a new reader, Go read my previous article first.
Today the topic of my article is Nuclear Family System and I will comprehensively explain the advantages and disadvantages of the Nuclear Family System.
Nuclear Family
Nuclear Family System is comprised of Parent and their offspring. The children left their family after becoming adults enough to get married and they make their own nuclear family. The nuclear family system is mostly found all over the world especially in urban areas. The members of the Nuclear family are very small as compared to Joint Family.
Advantages of Nuclear Family
The most important advantage of the Nuclear family system is that everyone gets more privacy as compared to Joint family system. Special importance is given to the personal space of a person. Life can be lived according to their own will as no boundaries and rules are set by the elders.
Expenses are limited because family members are less which can lead to financial stability.
Parenting in a nuclear family is way better because there is no one who can interfere in your parenting and enforce their thinking upon you.
You can be blessed with more mental peace in a nuclear family as compared to a joint family system. Because there is no noise disturbance in small families as compared to big families so you can live in peace and harmony. So the nuclear family can be heaven for introverts as it is most comfortable for them. Also, you are saved from seeing in-law's conflicts.
Children are free to make their own decisions and there are no elders who can alter their decisions. Therefore, children living in nuclear have good decision-making skills as compared to living in the joint. The reason is, they have spent their life according to their own decisions as no one has any influence on it.
Disadvantages of Nuclear Family
The most important disadvantage of a Nuclear Family is; that most children living in Nuclear families feel insecure, lonely, and stress as compared to those living in Joint families. The reason is that they have a very small number of members and most of them are busy with their life, so they have no one to play and spend time with. They spend most of their time in loneliness. Spending alone time can be stressful for a child. They also feel neglected as their parents are busy with their life and they have no time for their children.
A nuclear family can bring a financial burden on a single earner and he/she has to bear it alone.
Children living in nuclear families have fewer family values as compared to the Joint family system. They have not got the chance to live with the elders that are why they have no idea about the respect of elders.
As I said some lessons are to be learned by life not books. So children living in nuclear families don't get to learn from their elder's life experiences.
Children are mostly selfish and they only care about themselves in nuclear families.
Most of the children have spoilt behavior because there is no elder in the family who can keep an eye on them and guide them when they are in need of guidance.
