𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟎𝟏: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐬 Guinness World Records has named Báthory the most prolific female murderer, while the exact number of victims is unknown. Between 1590 and 1610, Báthory and four associates were accused of torturing and killing hundreds of girls and women. The largest number of victims mentioned during Báthory's trial was 650, however this figure derives from a servant girl named Susannah's assertion that Báthory's court official, Jakab Szilvássy, had seen the figure in one of Báthory's secret books. Szilvássy never referenced the book in his evidence, and it was never revealed.
