SPACE-SAVING BICYCLE PARKING SPOTS 🚲 At the height of the pandemic last year, the national government enforced massive restrictions on public transit to avoid the spread of COVID-19. These restrictions forced many Filipinos to rely on bicycles as their main transportation to work. With the increasing number of people biking to work, the call for bike-friendly parking spaces is likewise getting louder. Luckily, this private company in Valenzuela City heard that clamor, and is now pioneering space-saving parking spots for its bicycle-owning employees. According to Danielle Pacifico, an employee of the parent company of the subsidiary firm behind these bike parking spots, this is the company’s response to the plight of its employees in looking for bike-friendly parking spaces. “[T]hat bicycle [parking spaces] is one of their newest projects during this pandemic. This is to help their employees have designated parking areas, which is one of the problems of companies nowadays,” Pacifico told The Philippine STAR. “Hope we can inspire more private companies to develop such projects,” he added.
