Facts about Space that will rock your World 🌌🌌 The position of the North Star will change over time ~When Polaris stops being the North Star in around 13,000 years, navigation will be strange. In case you didn't know, Earth's axis undergoes a process known as "precession," which causes the planet's axis to shift and trace out the shape of a coneβ€”even if just slightly. When this happens, the axis takes about 26,000 years to carve out a complete cone shape.
