Our first subject for today let us answer some of the profile information and that includes some questions from the photo inserted below. I got a lot of time answering this one because I felt so much dramatic on this part. It goes like this.. -Aside from connectivity and device issues, what are the problems/challenges you encountered in the implementation of asynchronous/synchronous class in the past two semesters? Homeschooling is not for everyone, in my opinion. Many of us, Filipino students, face numerous challenges when it comes to online learning. Given that the majority of students come from below-average socioeconomic backgrounds, some of us feel more pressured, undecided about going through with it, and second-guessing whether we should continue studying. One of the difficulties I am encountering while online learning in this pandemic is a lack of support from my family. We had a lot of financial problems after my father was stopped from his job. One of the prerequisites for online learning is a stable internet connection and a laptop or any other device that can be used for that purpose. Unfortunately, I only had a Samsung Y mini phone, which does not even support apps like GMEET or ZOOM. Luckily, my aunt lent me a personal laptop that can handle basic tasks. Another issue that I am still dealing with is a lack of personal space for studying. As I previously stated, the majority of Filipino families are impoverished and unable to provide these things for their children, so what more when it comes to personal spaces? So these are the issues that we, as students, have been dealing with up to this point. Unfortunately, our other blockmates decided to stop studying and instead look for a stable job. I can't blame them for that. It just saddened me because many students had dreams that were crushed because of this pandemic. -How did you overcome the challenges of online learning? Overcoming the difficulties of online learning is a particularly challenging thing for me. But I can say that I am able to deal with this because I have dreams for myself and the family that I will create. Because of the constant stress, there were times when I just wanted to die. But whenever I have some time to think about it, all I do is ask God to give me the mental toughness to continue my journey as a student. I know that many students face a lot of responsibility and challenges, which is why I am even more motivated to pursue my dreams. I'm sure I'm not the only one who faces these.
