I've met a lot of cruel people in my life. I tried to figure out why. The majority of them had a difficult history, having been unloved, lonely, broke, and tired of human behavior. So, certainly, be considerate. You might find yourself in their shoes tomorrow. Nobody is born with a bad personality. This is what life has pushed you to do.
