O-, THE INTROVERT Blood is a viscous, slightly alkaline and salty fluid. Blood circulates throughout the whole body through blood vessels and distributes oxygen and nutrients. Blood can be classified into different groups depending upon the presence of Antigens and Antibodies which are contained in red blood corpuscles and plasma respectively. Blood is classified into four groups: A,B,AB and O. Rhesus factor is another type of antigen. Presence of this factor is called rh positive and absence is called rh negative. If rhesus factor is taken into consideration then blood groups are A+,A-,B+,B-,AB+,AB-,O+,O-. Though all blood groups can receive blood from at least 2 groups, in average 4 groups, there is only O- which can not receive blood from any other groups other than O-. But people with O- blood group can donate blood to each and every blood group. Hence, people with O- blood groups are called universal donors. And O- blood is the rarest of all. At last, I am the one with O- blood group. I can donate blood to each and every person in this world. But I can only receive from those whose blood group are same as me. I feel quite unlucky but again I am happy that I can donate blood to anyone in danger and will be able to help some people in their most critical moment of their life. #Blood_donation #O- #Biology #Information #RandomThoughts
