As a American I am very confused by the sentiment of the American Flag. On one hand I understand what it stands for, It is a symbol of our freedom and where we came from and what we went through to get here. But on the other hand it represents our freedom and that means I can do what I want without punishment's or backlash (legal things that is). But that also means I can burn the flag if I want. It is my flag to do with what I want with it. I was born into this free country with the Freedom on Speach. So then why does everyone get so wound up over people kneeling during the anthem or what have you. It it not a disrespect of the military or the country, Quite the opposite. It is because of the military that we have the freedom to kneel or stand or whatever. I just don't get why people get soooooo mad over it.

You Americans are so different 🤦😂 but you're right. I mean, they don't have to get mad for people to do whatever they want cuz there is freedom. But it is kind of offensive the "why they do that for". For example, I can walk like I want wherever I want, right? If I want to have my hand open in front of my body on my way that's my problem. But imagine if I want to have my hand closed except for the middle finger, people will get upset and offended, and could even demand me for offense or whatever. 😅 So it is not a matter of freedom, it is a matter of what its representate. 🤔
As a non-American I agree and for me there is an over-reverance almost worship of the armed forces. They should be respected and never have a return to the Vietnam War Era but to over worship is taking things the other way. Regular people, frequently brave and heroic and that should be honoured with parades etc but the gung-ho God Bless the U S of F**King A is a bit OTT Hope no offense caused and my view on the military came across correctly - respect but not worship
