The heart has to be cleansed again and again. Purification of the heart is from repentance. Repentance is like a bath which has to be done again and again, but sometimes the skin under the heels of your feet becomes hard and rough. Just pouring water does not cure it. It has to be soaked in warm water for a long time to soften it. Then its dead layer is easily removed and so is the heart. Dead and rough.
