I've been introducing people to #BitcoinCash. A couple of weeks later they say: "I've been getting some BCH but I really WISH the price would go down so I could get more." Complete opposite of #Bitcoiners rabidly hoping for a pump to cash out for dollars. They've already lost.

Any idea how to approach merchants to accept BCH? My ambition is to start renovating my house using the BCH I’ve accumulated over the last few years and allot of the products are specialised.

  Yes. You need to make it in the merchant's commercial interest. There are three ways to do this: 1. Offer a direct incentive aka say "I will pay 10% extra in BCH" or something of that nature. At some price, the extra money will be worth them figuring out how to accept it. This sets a bad precedent though and will cost you a lot so I don't recommend it. 2. Offer an indirect incentive. Either find suppliers that already accept BCH and prefer them over ones that do not. Or you can even go to a merchant and say "Will you accept BCH?" and if they say "No." say "Ok, thank you for your time." and try again with a competitor. 3. Build trust. Depends on the service, but if you are a regular customer of a given merchant, you can build trust by having banter with them etc. over several weeks. Then ask about BCH accepting once you have some reputation, and they will want to consider the idea and be much more likely to accept because they understand you have a history of business together and they want that to continue.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to get back to me - I really appreciate it. Looks like I'm going to have to start small with the local hardware store and perhaps make direct contact with manufacturers for things like windows. I'll let you know how it goes.
