Musk keeps talking about how he bought Twitter to promote freedom of expression. In fact, Twitter has deleted accounts en masse in the past for no reason. What Musk's freedom of expression looks like? It's valid until it's not about him. The account of student Jack Sweeney, who follows Musk's flight movements in real time, has been suspended. Musk unblocks accounts that fit his opinion mould and bans accounts he doesn't like, such is Twitter's new freedom of expression. I am not surprised that Tesla shares have lost about half their market value. Musk has started his own downfall. https://www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-elonjet-twitter-lawsuit-jack-sweeney-banned-suspended-account-reaction-1767503

So we're not advancing... and still I know many people which accounts are still blocked. I know also that in different countries still people of those teams are doing same things they did in the past. But if this is happening, that's not really freedom but as I see this is war between "them", an elite against another elite, we are just in the middle, and used for their purposes in one sense or other. By the way, right now I saw a text written by Andrew Torba (CEO of GAB) talking about this same thing you are saying. It's an interesting view of all this: https://news.gab.com/2022/12/musk-is-in-over-his-head/
You've got it right. That's why I don't use all these mainstream social media. I have a Twitter account, but I don't post or comment. I have discussed a few times with BTC maxis, but you can hardly call it discussion. Twitter is full of bots and morons.
Yeah it's crazy... about commenting, never possible, you only get insults just for saying your own opinion.
Exactly. Twitter is full of aggressive and simply stupid people, plus there are many bots there. It's also very annoying that you can only write such short posts and can't correct them afterwards. Twitter is no fun, it's a cesspit.
When social media platform start running under personal likes/ dislikes then sure these drawbacks will happen. Musk made twitter a personal territory where he wants his own feudalism. But at the end he is creating free space for another compititor like noise.app .
I would be happy if people would switch from Twitter to Noise.app, but firstly Noise.app is still far too unknown and secondly the devs still have to improve a lot, search, renoise, tags and much more.
