The SEP20 tokens have many advantages over SLP tokens, but somewhat annoyingly, you have to manually add the tokens to the Metamask wallet. They also have no logos. Not even BCH has a logo. The SLP tokens appear in the Bitcoin.com wallet automatically and many also have a nice logo. I know the SmartBCH project is still very young, but I hope that in time the metamask developers will add the logos and tokens so you don't have to do it manually. If the metamask developers refuse to do it, the Bitcoin Cash developers should create a fork of Metamask and add it themselves.
