# SALTWATER FISH in FRESHWATER. ๐๐ Do you know what will happen if you put saltwater fish in freshwater? Naturally saltwater fish retain somewhat big amount of salt in them than freshwater fish. So in that term, if you put saltwater fish in a freshwater tank, osmosis will take place.๐ช The fresh water will go inside the body of that freshwater fish and it will be swelling till death๐ต. Thus it couldnโt survive in freshwater. I always encourage to do extra research before believing anything. ๐ Happy readingโค๏ธ

Yup. This is true. I have a friend who breeds tilapia. He always ask his client to test the salinity of the pond where the fingerlings will be placed before he starts breeding. If I remember it right, he will try to match the salinity where he will breed the fish. This will improve the survival rate of the fingerlings. However some fishes can't adjust like the tilapia. So salt water fish would die in fresh water and possibly vice verse.
Yes dear, you are completely right. It happens like that. By ignorance many people do the devastating act.
