Mathematician of one night (এক রাতের গণিতবিদ)
Évariste Galois was a French mathematician and political activist. He lived for only 20 years. But his work laid the foundations for *Galois theory* and *group theory*, two major branches of abstract algebra.
He loved mathematics so much that he could go through a book on mathematics just like a novel.
Today I want to share last day of this great mathematician.
It was his last night and he knew it. Actually he had to participate in a duel on 30th May, 1832 (the next day). His opposition was expert and so he was sure that it was gonna be his last night.
He could spend the whole night by enjoying or praying. But he did none of them. He sat and wrote down his whole works on mathematics. For his this dedication we have got such major branches in mathematics. And he did all of them only in 20 years of his lifetime.
In those papers, there was a letter also. He wrote several times that "my time is going to have an end".
In spite of being a teenager, due to his great works he is called father of a branch of mathematics. I wonder thinking that what he would give the world if he had a long life!

There are many color blind test but *Ishihara’s Test* is most well known. Each of his tests consists of a set of colored dotted plates, each of them showing either a number or a path.

There was a rich man in a locality. He used to lend his money to the poor at a high interest.
Once he lent to a poor farmer. But the farmer couldn't return it within time. In fact, he was not in that condition. Realizing it the evil minded rich man proposed to marry his daughter and in return he won't claim for the money again. But the farmer didn't agree.
The rich man understand that the farmer is unable to return his money and never wants to marry her daughter with him. But he is not a person to give up so easily.
He hit upon a plan and told, "I'll put two stones in a bag. One is black and another is white. If your daughter picks up the white one, I'll not claim for the money and won't marry her. But if she picks up the black one, I'll not still ask for the money. But you have to allow me to marry your daughter."
Finding no way the farmer agreed.
On the day of selection the girl noticed that the rich man put two black stones (instead of putting one white and one black) inside the bag. But she was unable to say anything.
Now her turn came. She became depressed as there was no hope left. But she continued thinking.
In the meanwhile she got one of the black stones from the bag and held it inside her handfuls. When she was approaching towards the rich man to submit her stone, she suddenly slipped willingly. And this black stone was lost!!
Then people asked, "how will we understand now which stone she picked?"
This time the girl replied to see the stone that is inside the bag. Everyone did so and found out that the black one is there. So the solution is simple, she picked up the white one!!
The rich man could understand the girl's cleverness. But couldn't express that since there were many people.
And thus the great misery vanished from her and her father's life!!
The world wide web is a network or application?
Today everyone is familiar with the world wide web (www). But many don't know is it internet (network) or anything else. I also couldn't answer before 3/4 days.
The internet allows distributed applications running on its end systems (pc, laptop, server etc), to exchange data with each other.
These applications include remote login, file transfer, e-mail, audio and video conferencing, distributed games, the **world wide web** and much more.
It is worth emphasizing that the Web is not a separate network; rather just one of many **distributed applications** that use the communication services provided by the Internet.
Anyway, the Web could also run over a network besides the Internet.

How do ants identify a dead ant?
Ants are social like human being. They live in a colony and all of them are assigned to different works.
But today's question is *how the ants identify a dead ant?*
When an ant dies, a chemical named **Oleic Acid** emits from its body. For ants the smell of this acid is similar to death. When they smell this, they at once can identity the dead one and dispel it from the society.
Now another important thing is If this acid is sprayed on a living ant, the whole colony take it as dead. And in spite of being alive, it's dispelled.

3 girls' age solution
Yesterday I posted a tricky question of mathematics and IQ.
One could answer only; but couldn't explain properly. So now I am providing the solution.
For simplicity I'm writing the question here:
***Clue 1:*** *The product of three girls' age is 36*
***Clue 2:*** *Though I tell you sum of the ages, you can't find out their ages*
***Clue 3:*** *The eldest girl has a dog*
*Now find out the ages of the three girls😊*
If you want to find out the solution by yourself, stop the article here and try. Otherwise go through it.
**Let's find out the solution:**
**step 1:**
First clue was *the product of ages is 36*. So you have to find out in how many ways you can make 36 using 3 numbers.
I've written all the cases here. And so the solution is in this list.
**step 2:**
Now let's move to the second clue. It says *though I tell you the sum of their ages, you can't find out them.*
Whatever has been told, forget for a moment and get the sum for all the cases above:
Now think why you can't find out the ages though you know the sum.
Look at the photo again. Here the sums are 38, 21, 16, 14, 13, 13, 11, 10 right?
If I told you sum is 38, 21, 16, 14, 11, 10, you surely could tell what are the ages. But you can't because the solution contains a sum that is present here **twice**.
Yes so the sum is 13.
It means that the solution will be either (1, 6, 6) or (2, 2, 9).
**step 3:**
The third clue says that **the eldest girl** has a dog.
Now look at the triplets.
For (1, 6, 6) there is no eldest one. But for (2, 2, 9) here the eldest age is 9.
So, finally we get the solution and the ages of the girl's are 2, 2 and 9 years.

Thinking outside the box: 9 dots puzzle
Thinking outside the box is a metaphor that means to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective.
This term was derived in last century basing on a mathematical problem name "9 dots puzzle".
The problem is:
There are 9 dots arranged like the following photo.
You have to add them by drawing 4 straight lines.
The straight lines should be continuous. You can't lift up your pen.
One can try it in many ways. And at first he may say, "it's not a big deal!".
So, let's try in some ways:
**Attempt 1:**
Result: One dot is untouched.
**Attempt 2:**
Result: One dot is untouched.
**Attempt 3:**
Result: One dot is untouched.
I've tried tree times. If you want to try yourself, you can stop reading here and draw.
I am moving to the **solution** part now.
Look at the photo:
It looks like a box, right?
If we start drawing from an edge of the box, we will not get any solution. In fact, you have to think outside the box. And from this the term "**thinking outside the box**" has been derived.

Look all the 9 dots have been added by 4 straight lines and need not to lift your pen up.
