A Coin in the River I was walking along the old stone bridge in my city when I saw a boy leaning over the railing, staring at the slow, murky river below. In his hand, he held a small, shiny coin. “Are you making a wish?” I asked. He shook his head. “No… I’m giving it back.” I frowned. “Giving what back?” “My luck,” he said softly. “I found this coin last week. Since then, I got free lunch at school, I found my missing dog, and even my mom laughed again after a long time. But… maybe someone else needs it more now.” Before I could say anything, he tossed the coin into the water. The ripples spread in slow circles, carrying away the glimmer. I walked away thinking—maybe kindness is the rarest kind of currency. The more you give it away, the richer the world becomes.
