My Encanto Experience It's interesting how we get to learn some of the best lessons we are ever going to learn from the most funny sources. As you probably know, I've been super busy and stressed this period due to my industrial training that I'm undergoing. Despite having had a break during the weekend, by the end of Monday, I had that 'I'm about to fall sick' feeling again, so I decided to find a way to earn myself a day's worth of extra rest. I'm not proud of it, but I did take an excuse so I could get better. I can't try to impress others at the expense of my own health. I've been using the day to do exactly what I planned to use it for, which is rest. I also finally got to watch the movie Encanto and oh boy! was it full of lessons. The scriptwriters, producers, actors and crew really put themselves into the work to produce such an absolute beauty. That said, I don't intend to do a review of the movie, I just want to extrapolate the lessons. These are things that when applied to our lives, we will definitely live richer and fuller lives as well as those around us. Perfection It's quite interesting how we tend to strive for perfection, even funny when we are doing it for others. To start with, perfection is actually a very subjective thing. What's perfect to you, can be quite nonsensical to me. The truth is no matter how we try, we can never be perfect, we were never meant nor designed to be (at least not in our mortal and earthly form). It pains me to see people going out of their way, sacrificing the dreams, goals and aspirations just to live up to someone's expectation of them like Luisa and Isabela were doing for their Abuela. The quest for a perfect life will only lead to misery as you'll be carrying a burden that will eventually overwhelm you sooner or later. **We are humans! Perfection is not in our DNA, it's not, has never and will never be who we are**. *We are allowed to make mistakes, for we aren't God, we are just humans.* Help Have you ever seen someone who's in trouble and is surrounded by people who are capable and willing to help, but won't ask? Of course you have. I don't know why people do that. Some might see it as a sign of strength of perseverance, I don't. For me, it's the other way around, it's pride, it's weakness. It takes a lot of courage to speak out, to appear vulnerable, to ask for help. Isabela and Luisa didn't need to keep suffering in their head while living a fake life of satisfaction. They had a family that loved them, that would have at least listened to them, but they chose to continue suffering because they fear for what it would make them look like and how it would affect their worth. The Way to Render Help One of my favourite character in the movie is Bruno. He basically gave up his life to protect Isabela and the family. He missed out on all those many years of their lives, while living within crevices fixing cracks. He was the unknown helper. This is how we ought to help people, this is true kindness. It is said, when your left hand is doing good, your right hand shouldn't know. The point I'm trying to make here is this, do not offer help for the wrong reasons. If you're not doing it from the bottom of your heart and for the sake of kindness itself, you might as well not do it at all. You Are Unique Mirabel spent almost everyday of her life after her failed ceremony, trying to be what she's not. She was overdoing and overcompensating with everything, so she could feel important and equal as well. What she didn't know was that she was already important, special and unique in her own right (even without her magic). This is true for everyone of us. We see people who seem to have one talent or the other, one thing or the other, and it seem like we are the only ones who do not have anything, like we are the weirdos, the inadequates, but that's not true! You are already special, important and unique, but you won't know it until you stop judging yourself by other people's standard. If you can sing, great but if you can't, it doesn't make you any less important, after all we can't all be singers. If you can play football, alright and if you can't, still cool someone has got to treat the sick after all and if we all are playing football, who's going to treat the wounded players?😂😂 Conclusion The movie is loaded with lessons that make for a fuller life. I highly recommend it. You should learn to love and cherish yourself. Know your support system and use it. You don't have to be strong everytime. Sometimes it's okay to cry, to break down, to ask for help. Lastly, never let yourself get trapped in a rat race for perfection cause we are humans and it's totally okay to make mistakes, to be irregular. Learn to thrive, don't just exist. ***Once again, I want to say thank you to all my sponsors, subscribers, readers, upvoters and commmenters for your immense support. Without you, I'll be nowhere. My progress here has been all you, and for this I'm immensely and forever grateful***
