Baguio City Summer Capital of the the Philippines indeed! ❤️ Been to this place more than I could count my fingers and I would still want to go back. Because aside from plenty of good sceneries and historical sites, the food and people were also worth coming back for.

Pahiyas Festival Every May 15, the townsfolk of Lucban, Quezon, don their houses with fruits, vegetables and colorful kiping (a leaf-shaped wafer made of rice and dyed with food coloring) in celebration of the Pahiyas Festival. The word ‘pahiyas’ was derived from the word ‘payas’, which means decoration or to decorate. The reason behind such practice dates back to the 15th century, when farmers used to offer their harvests at the foot of Mount Banahaw. Over time, they…
Vegetable Kare-Kare Kare Kare is a type of Filipino stew with a rich and thick peanut sauce. It is a popular dish in the Philippines served during special occasions. The traditional recipe is composed of ox tail. There are instances wherein both ox tripe and tail are used. The vegetable components of the dish are string beans, eggplant, bok choy, and banana blossoms. Lightly browned toasted ground rice is used to thicken the sauce. But this version is purely veggies. Perfect…
Tuna Kinilaw So easy to make once you’ve got a fresh catch or tuna on your table. Before, I was living for so many years in Palawan, where plenty of seafoods were easier to come by. So ceviche was present all the time whenever I wanted to make one. Perfect for pulutan of course and if you are not feeling peachy, ulam could be as well. ❤️

The Craftsman I love this book, especially Ms. Sharon Bolton. One of the best writers I came across so far. She’s so great. And I always love her plot twists. Her books are mind-blowing and gut-churning kind of books. So if you’re looking for a psychological thriller kind of books, try her works and I promise, you will never be disappointed. Definitely worth of your time.

Batchoy **Batchoy**, less commonly spelled **batsoy**, is a noodle soup made with pork offal, crushed pork cracklings, chicken stock, beef loin and round noodles. It’s origins can be traced to the district of La Paz, Iloilo Ciy in the Philippines, hence it is often referred to as **La Paz Batchoy**. It is perfect for snacks or rainy days. I super love it. And I’ll never forget the time that I was in Iloilo.
Pasyak I super love this dish, pasyak in coconut milk with lots of chili. In our province, we don’t have this in our market. We only have it’s smaller version called sikad-sikad. It was kinda hard to eat it because you have to use a needle or a fork for it’s content to come out. Unlike pasyak, you only have to pull it off to come out. Some just sautee it with ginger, but I highly recommend for you guys to use coconut milk instead.
Tiramisu Cake ❤️ **Tiramisu** (from the Italian language, spelled **tiramisù**, [ˌtiramiˈsu], meaning "pick me up" or "cheer me up") is a coffee-flavoured Italian dessert. It is made of ladyfingers (savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa. And I guess the pricey mascarpone cheese is the reason why tiramisu is expensive, although other ingredients are quite inexpensive. ... A layer of…
Homemade Sizzling Pork Sisig One of my all time favourite dish to make. So easy and perfect for any day or occassions, best shared with family, friends and love ones. ❤️

Pancit Hab-Hab A definitely must try once you visit Lucban, Quezon Province. It’s super yummy. Habhab is derived from eating it straight up, like without using utensils. Perfect match with spicy vinegar. Buddy’s Restaurant is famous for it and Buddy’s has branches in some parts of our country. Like in Manila.
Binangkal Binangkal is a pastry similar to doughnut popular in the islands of Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines. People make binangkal from deep frying dense dough balls coated with sesame seeds, and usually serve with hot chocolate or coffee. The name of this snack is derived from bangkal, the local Cebuano common name for the Leichhardt tree which has spherical flowers and fruits. ❤️
Lechon Paksiw Lechon paksiw is a Filipino pork dish made using leftover lechon or lechon kawali. Lechon refers to spit roasted pig. A whole pig is prepared and skewered in a spit ( a long bamboo rod) and then roasted over charcoal. Our version of lechon is baked on a brick oven. For me a lot better, more delecious and crispier rather than skewered.
Steamed Oysters Ordered it online and it came all the way from bicol. Oysters is kind of expensive especially it if came from other places. Perfect for steam if you want the easiest way to cook it. You can also add cheeese or butter. I super love it, since I rarely eat it, given the chance that it wasn’t easy to buy one.
Chicken Curry Chicken curry is my all-time favorite comfort food. Every time it’s on the menu, I can’t help but eat my weight in rice. And that, my friends, means A LOT. This chicken stew is not only a regular on our meal rotation at home, but it’s also one of the dishes I often make for holidays and special occasions. With juicy chicken, tender potatoes and carrots, and colorful bell peppers in a glorious curry-infused coconut sauce, it’s hearty, tasty, and sure to be a…

Ube Pandesal With the goodness of the sweet ube and creamy cheese combined together into the Filipino favorite pandesal, it immediately captured the hearts of many Filipinos nationwide. But since it is just a new discovery, it is somehow hard to obtain by everyone. Then why not try making it yourself? Because it sure is possible! A lot of Filipino desserts have already managed to add this delicious combination to many of their variations. This shows how Pinoys already…
In the Unlikely Event This book came out of left field and slapped me over the head with all of the feels. This is so completely different from anything I've read by LJ to date. A unique and angsty emotional roller coaster that was addictive from beginning to finish. If there's one thing that I've come to expect from LJ Shen, it's her knack for the unexpected, and ITUE was definitely unexpected. If you're fans of second chance romance that offers up angst with a splash of…
Beef Kaldereta Beef Kaldereta is a main stay in any Filipino Kitchen. It is a type of beef stew cooked with tomato sauce and liver spread. Ingredients such as potato, carrots, bell peppers, and olives are also utilized when cooking this dish. The beef needs to be cooked until tender.
