It's a holiday, GODOFREDO PERALTA RAMOS DAY "The Father of Aklan" Born: November 8, 1911 In 1956, he worked to enact Republic Act No. 1414, which separated Aklan from Capiz and made it an independent province. On April 25, 1956, then-President Ramon Magsaysay signed Republic Act No. 1414, establishing Aklan province. To commemorate his birthday, Proclamation No. 194 declared November 8 a special non-working holiday in Aklan. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed it on April 25, 2002 as a fitting homage to Godofredo Peralta Ramos' great achievements and a statement of heartfelt gratitude for his contributions to the province of Aklan.
