As you have noticed, the transaction fees on the Ethereum blockchain network are more and more exorbitant. We all remember with nostalgia fees as low as a few cents somewhere back in 2020.
Here is a method to save some nice money on your ethereum transactions.
Let me give you an example from today. I had to send 50 DAI to a friend. And it was:
For Metamask, fees: $7.28 (Slow)
For MyCrypto, fees: $3.95 (Standard) or $2.94 (Safe Low) (You can download the app).
That's almost half the price! And proposed by default.
How do you explain that by default, in slow mode, the transaction prices on Metamask are so high?! It seems that by default the transaction price is set much higher than necessary. Obviously, your transaction will be fast, but it is apparently twice as expensive. Of course, you can always enter the "advanced options" and set the price of gas yourself. I use Exodus Wallet. You can't set the fee there, but one is automatically charged. Right now it is $2.88. The fee charged is sufficient for the transaction to be confirmed immediately.
But the ETH fees annoy me so much that I no longer use it.
