In case you don't know, the favicon is a short word for a favourite icon. It is a little icon that appears to represent your blog on the browser tabs. The favicon helps people identify your blog on the browser tabs.
In creating my blog's favicon, I came across a useful tool, a website that can be used to create blog favicons and logos easily. You don't need any skill to use the website in creating a favicon and logo. On the website, you can create a favicon from any image, text or emoji. The website is called favicon.io.
I used favicon.io to create my blog favicon. First of all, I went on to favicon.io. Then I clicked on generate favicon. A page comes up where you can input the text you want as the favicon. So I went on to input the letter S, which I want to be used in creating the favicon.
Then I changed the colour by adding my blog's main colour code. I also increased the size of the letter S, to make it bold. I also italicised the S.
After creating the favicon, I downloaded it by clicking on the "download" button in the top right corner. The favicon is downloaded on a ZIP file.
To upload the new favicon on the blog, I went straight to the backend of the blog and added it. In case you want to try it. Head on to the Settings of the blog. Then select favicon. Then click on the upload favicon button. As simple as that.
Click on view blog or if you have the blog displayed on another browser tab, refresh the page to see the changes on the blog.
Here are some suggestions when creating a favicon.
• Use 1 or 2 letters when creating your blog favicon. At most 3 letters.
• Make it simple, don't complete it with so many elements.
