The Central Bank of Ukraine promises to start paying the first salaries in digital hryvnia this year. The National Bank of Ukraine promises that some officials will start receiving salaries in the digital hryvnia (CBDC) this year. Recall that in early August, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the country, Mikhail Fedorov, during a conversation with journalists, noted that employees of his department will be able to receive the first tokens in the form of a salary. Allegedly, the government is already forming a list of employees of the ministry who will either fully or partially receive the earned money in the national digital currency. The Ukrainian authorities have been working on the creation of an electronic version of the hryvnia for the past few years. Recently it became known that the National Bank is accelerating the implementation of the project to launch the token. This week, Arsen Makarchuk, head of the Central Bank's Strategy and Development Department, said that the payment of the first salaries in the CBDC will take place in 2021. Employees of the Ministry of Digital Transformation will decide for themselves which of them will receive tokens. Currently, the regulator is working on the technological side of the process of accrual and application of coins on the market. A full-fledged launch of the digital hryvnia should take place by the end of next year. #Cryptocurrency
